About Us
The City of Washington Terrace is proud to announce the forming of the Washington Terrace Business Alliance. One of the goals of the Mayor and the City Council was to establish a setting where there could be a cooperative effort between the City and local business owners to educate local businesses and residents about the wonderful services we have in our community.
The
first meeting was held in April 2007 when several local business owners turned
out to help offer ideas and goals in forming the alliance. The feedback
received emphasized networking, marketing and directing business towards the
local community. In the last few months, the City has been working on
facilitating many of these goals. The City website offers a link to the WTBA
which will feature many of the local businesses as well as individual links to
business websites. A directory is being compiled and it will be a great
opportunity for residents to take advantage of what is offered in their own
community. Each month, a local business will be featured in the City newsletter
that is distributed to every home in the Terrace. The alliance is a great
opportunity to help local businesses stay informed on current City events and
policies and to make new business contacts.
Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month. Decisions concerning the WTBA will be determined by the members themselves. Through communication, cooperation and mutual understanding, the City and local owners can build a strong business community.
As membership grows, the possibilities of what can be accomplished are limitless. There are many benefits of being part of the WTBA. The WTBA is open to ALL business owners, including rental property owners and there are no fees for membership. Participation is highly encouraged to all business owners.
